Happy Friday! It’s a beautiful day here, but I’m still feeling the allergy problem. So’s my server. Life in the Ohio Valley. In fact, Elton easily makes both lists. In this case, it’s from his fabulous 1984 album Breaking Hearts. Listen, my teenybopper idol was Elton John, but even 50 years after the fact I’m still impressed with how many quality albums this guy made in his career. While many may have thought his best days were back in the 70s, I was still buying and enjoying Elton albums in the 80s. Even 2001’s Songs From the West Coast is stinking brilliant. Even my mom loved this song. It speaks of that interesting oxymoron of “happy sad songs.” Jim Reeves once said he loved singing sad songs. They sell. And happy songs about sad songs are great, too!
