It seems to me that tonight someone removed the cork from the devil’s fundament letting out the turbulent furies of a most windy hell. Storm Amy has been blowing since lunch time and she blew my Lady Veronica clean across the garden. 44,000 homes are still without electricity and all boats, planes and trains have been cancelled. Rain has been beating down upon us too, not sweet, delightful little “perles de pluie” but wind-propelled needles with sharp tips. Just saying.

It seems that everywhere in the world are having storm. We do have rain but not enough to be a storm of some sort.

Oh wow! I wonder how our son is getting on. At least it's a weekend and he doesn't have to go to work.

Amy has just passed by my neck of the woods. Fortunately I didn’t lose the electric, or strangely any sleep. The wind usually keeps me awake. I did read that the comedian, Jason Manford, had to cancel his show in Belfast last night because his flight got diverted to Manchester because of the winds. A disappointment to many I’m sure.
