Hello friends.
Netflix is showing Little Women and of course I´m watching it again. And there are several sentences that show me how we take so many things for granted. Mrs. Marsh explained to Jo about the difference between men and women as women could not vote nor have many rights that now we don´t even think about. And they were people ahead of their time as the girls did not wear corsets for one thing.
I am 80 years and have seen a lot of changes in the world during my time. I write (used to be a writer) but I used a typewriter. Until this moment I think that my thoughts go at the same pace as my fingers at the typewriter. Still, I have accepted the laptop. But the cellphone is something that is not for me.
Those letters are so tiny that I´m aware that my fingers and big and clumsy.
Do you find some things that are not part of the world where you were born?

I am 30. I haven't observed much. Only few changes I have seen.In my childhood I used to go by rikshaw.we were enjoyed with bicycles till 22years.and lots of snacks like candies gummies etc. We have grown our own gauva papaya and neighbours also share what they have grown in their garden.
Now there were no rikshaw here, No bicycles now and children are not playing outdoor. Today's children born with big bars of chocolates there is no word of candies by birth.evening snacks we used to take peanut balls or sesame balls. Now the snacks were pani puri , hot chat, noodles, pasta etc. We used to get gauva and other seasonal fruits for free. Now we are buying them for high price. Not few there are many to compare which were not a part of my life once upon a time.It is completely a different trend.

In my country we have a climate and a land where we can grow delicious fruit and veggies. When I was a child, fruits were very inexpensive in season and our dessert was fruit. Now we export our best fruit and veggies and they are quite expensive. We don´t have now some of the fruit I loved most because those trees were cut off as those fruits did not travel well. The same thing has happened with the fish and seafood.
As we ate fruits and veggies and played running in the streets, the were thin but well fed. Now children are obese and play with their tablets in their room

Women have come a long way. Movies like this make those things out to be normal for the time and how women were expected to act back then. A lot has changed. Thank goodness. And a lot has been flung upon us due to people like Trump.

@marguicha ........Sorry. It seems like all the negative subjects circle back around to him. For me at least.

Let´s not talk about Trump. I will not visit the US again because of him.

I am 75, I used a typewriter for a very long time and I consider it's still a much better instrument than a computer keyboard. I cannot stand smartphones, but I need one, because the Bank now obliges us to have an app or we cannot have a Bank account.

@LadyDuck I lost part of them. But lately I have discovered that my life is my memory much more than anything outside it.

@marguicha - My old computer gave up, I am glad I had a full back up on an external hard drive, at least I have all my photos.

Little Women has been remade so many times. It's a good movie. So many things have changed in my lifetime, especially the technology.

I´m not happy about all technology. It has both good and bad points.

@LindaOHio I have Nexflix. It is one of my luxuries and it is not very expensive if you only have it in one TV. I used to love going to the cinema when my husband was alive but I don´t like going alone.

@marguicha I like that you can find anything you're looking for on the internet, especially YouTube.

Little Women is an excellent book. I think I was 12 the first time I read it. I enjoyed the movie as well. I may try to watch it again soon.

I can remember black and white TV's. Also the phone was on the wall and you could only go as far as the cord would allow.
I don't like typing on a cell phone

I have read the book about three times and my Old Hollywood favorite Little Women is with Katherine Hepburn as Jo it is from 1933. I can tell you that I am glad the computer came along it greatly keeps me and my mind active but when technology was slower I would do a lot of needlepoint and paint by number to keep busy.

Typing on the cell phone isn't for me either. I can type pretty fast on the laptop but I do remember learning to type on a real typewriter.
