1982 - Creepshow
Creepshow is a horror comedy anthology film directed by George A. Romero; and the screenplay was written by Stephen King. This was King's first screenplay. The movie is inspired by the horror comic books of the 1950s.
The movie stars an ensemble cast including Hal Holbrook, Fritz Weaver, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, E. G. Marshall, Vivica Lindfors, Ted Danson and Ed Harris.
Father's Day - Bedelia Grantham's father concocted a fatal "hunting accident", killing her fiance; so Bedelia killed her father. Every Father's Day the family gathers for a dinner; and Bedelia arrives at the stroke of 6 pm. Upon her arrival, Bedelia goes into the cemetery to lay a flower on her father's grave.
The Lonesome Death of Jotdy Verrill - Hayseed Jordy Verrill sees a meteorite crash on his farm. He tries to touch it but burns his finger; so he pours a bucket of water on it. The meteorite breaks open; and a bluish liquid spills out. Jordy gets some of the liquid on his skin.
Something to Tide You Over - Richard Vickers visits Henry Wentworth, the man who is having an affair with his wife Becky. Richard makes a very strong point about keeping what is his. He plays a recording of Becky calling for help. Richard takes Henry down to the beach and, under gunpoint, instructs Henry to jump in a hole and cover himself with sand. Richard brings a TV monitor showing Becky buried in the sand up to her neck, just as Henry is.
The Crate - Mike Latimer, a janitor at a university, discovers a crate behind a grate under a set of stairs. It reads: Ship to Horlicks University via Julia Carpenter - Arctic Expedition - June 19, 1834. He calls Professor Dexter Stanley; and Stanley meets Mike at the university. They manage to get the crate out; and discover something moving inside.
They're Creeping Up on You - Upson Pratt is a business mogul who has a pathological fear of germs. He lives in a sealed penthouse. He hates bugs and begins to find cockroaches around his apartment.
I recently watched this movie on the recommendation of one of our members. I was hesitant because I don't like to watch creepy, scary movies when I'm alone. I needn't have worried. Creepshow is a campy and humorous anthology of five stories from the mind of Stephen King. It's not one of my favorite movies; but if you get tired of the gore and heart-thumping moments of some of the horror films out there, then this is for you.

I like a few of things that come from things Stephen King has written but this doesn't sound like one I'd like. I know I have said that a lot lol.

I've never seen this movie but I'm not really fond of scary and gore any more so this movie sounds like one I would enjoy. I do like Stephen King.
