I think shoes are something that you wear when you go outside. So, I can’t understand why people wear them in the house. Wearing shoes in the house brings in dirt etc from outside and surely your feet aren’t ‘ comfortable ‘.
The Mister wears shoes in the house ….i don’t get it.
I think slippers are cosy and they should be worn inside.
Personally , having said that I don’t like anything on my feet really. Indoors I sometimes wear slippers but mainly im just in my socks.
So, what do you wear on your feet in the house ?
Shoes….slippers…..socks….bare feet ?

@Traceyjayne When I lived in Switzerland we offered "Guest Slippers" to the guests. Those were brand new slippers of course, you can see the photo here. Here in Italy the guests keep their shoes and it is considered extremely rude to ask to take them off.

@traceyjayne I wouldn’t dare wear shoes inside!! My wife is convinced that all shoes have come in contact with even small traces of doggy doo which is then transferred to the carpet.

I never wear shoes in my apartment, and I wish other people would not wear them in my apartment either. But I only feel comfortable asking my best friend to take hers off because she already knows how I feel. I don’t want to be rude to anyone who would rather keep their shoes on. I do wear slippers in the winter, but no other time. I usually just go barefoot indoors.

Yes. That is a downside of going barefoot.

I wear slippers in the house for a couple of reasons. I have Raynaud’s (a condition where people get really cold in “normal” environments), so slippers keep my feet warm. Also, my podiatrist said I shouldn’t go barefoot because of my foot issues (which are minor but can hurt).

I have a friend who also has Raynauds …..it’s her hands that suffer the most.

@Traceyjayne — it shows mostly on the hands (looks like an American flag, red hands, white fingers, blue fingernails!), but I get “cold” everywhere. Cold feet can aggravate feeling cold more than just about anything.

I like bare feet. I do wear my shoes in, partly because hubby does as well. He hardly ever goes outside and does wear slippers part of the time. I do like slip on shoes for the house to protect my feet if I am working around room to room.

I actually go barefoot most of the year, but when it is cool out I have taken to wearing these animal print booties I like. Sometimes socks though if they are warm ones or I look ke them.

Now I only wear sleppers. But when I was young I did not bother to take my shoes off. I went in and out of the house all the time.

I have slip-ons which aren't really either. I don't wear them outside so they don't bring dirt in. Vince wears something similar. If he doesn't wear his slip-ons or else shoes with othotics, his feet hurt.

I wear flip flops 365. Because of that my feet have gone from a 7M to a 9-1/2 extra wide. I don't like slippers because I like my feet to breathe.

Depending on the season, flip flops in summer, socks the majority of the time, slippers in the cold of winter.
