1974 - The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
I realize that there are some members out there that enjoy this type of movie; and I am trying to feature movies for all tastes.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a horror movie produced, co-composed and directed by the horror film icon Tobe Hooper. The plot is largely fictional; but the character of Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen), is based on the serial killer Ed Gein. The film also stars Marilyn Burns, Paul A. Partain, Edwin Neal and Jim Siedow. It's narrated by John Larroquette.
In spite of being banned in several countries and theaters dropping the movie after complaints, this movie has survived as one of the best slasher films. The budget was $80,000-$140,000 and the movie grossed $30.9 million at the box office.
Five teenagers (Sally, Jerry, Pam, Kirk and Franklin) are riding in a van near Newt, Muerto County, Texas. The group needs gas for the van and stops at a filling station which has no gas available. Kirk and Pam set out to visit a nearby swimming hole and come upon a house that has gas-powered generators. They hope to barter for some gas.
Kirk enters the house and is murdered with a hammer by a large man wearing a skin mask. Pam enters the house and comes upon a room with decaying remains and furniture made out of human and animal bones. The masked man impales her with a meat hook. The man dismembers Kirk with a chain saw as Pam looks on.

I don't care for the gore and violence either. I like psychological thrillers such as Hide and Seek.

@LindaOHio Misery is a recent one I can think of that was done really well. I shouldn't say recent, though, that was made in 1990. But it was really good.

Despite my love for John Larroquette’s work and appreciation for his voice (he said he had to work at that, because as a youngster he had a very thick New Orleans accent), I haven’t seen it.

Quite a terror inducing movie but can we call it Horror?
May be it is a Psycho terror Thriller movie?
Yet I would not like to see it.
I mean we already hear and read news about so many negative things so why to see another such thing.
Just a personal opinion but seems like people were interested in watching it(hopefully nobody "enjoyed" as such).
