I might do something, to get more people on myLot

Sometimes on a Saturday after SNL, I like to check out myLot right before I take my phone into the hallway to charge it up for the night.
Most Recent Discussions - I noticed the same one was sitting up there.. and sitting up there.. no new ones added, and that’s a rarity here on myLot. I’ve been here long enough to know that usually within 5-10 minutes, at least, a new one will pop up. Because even on a Sat. night, people are awake at all different times from all over the world.
It was concerning. Not much activity, and more importantly, not many people.
You know what happens when there’s a drop in activity… all social media sites, including mL, depend on ad revenue. Without enough people viewing ads (whether they want to or not) 
esp a paying site, the pay rate can go down, which will cause an even bigger drop in members, and activity. That’s just the way it works and it’s like a downward spiral, until the site fizzles out completely. I don’t wanna see that happen here.
This place is like home to me and I know I’m guilty myself of not being so active lately, but that’s because I’m preparing for a big move. (Waitlisted!) so I’ve just been preparing for the move and even buying some stuff ahead of time that I know I will need. Might start a discussion on one cool thing later on tonight.
Ok, so here’s my plan.
You know when you meet people and you start talking and they’re like, “So what’s your Snapchat? What’s your Facebook?” etc. etc. And when your only social media site is myLot, you never really know what to say, so you’re like umm I’m only on this one site.. you probably haven’t heard of it…and they already thing you’re a weirdo for not being able to give them the “big” name sites.
Well, I might just make about 50 cheap myLot cards (I guess like business cards) with my username right at the bottom of them and the myLot emblem on top (if that’s cool with Mr. MyLot.)
So when random people ask that question, instead of the awkward explanations I can just hand them the card and say I’m on this site right here. And then just walk away.
I’ll keep them with me in my purse.
So if you happen to see a little jump in new users joining, and they all seem to be from Michigan, well that would be the work of… me. 
Do you think it will work?
I guess we’re about to find out.
I hope you guys are watching AMC with all the scary movies!

I think it's a great idea..I'd love to see a lotta activities here..I'm always swamped though..I guess a lotta people are busy too..and that explains the drop in activities here..I think I will try getting more people to sign up on the platform too

I’m always glad to see you pop in here. It’s been discouraging to see the drop off, and the weekends are the worst. I like your idea. After all, what could it hurt? I’m glad you’re getting a place to move, but try not to forget about us. We need everyone!

WE are myLot at the end of the day, right? The site won't promote itself. That's been made clear. We are a community. And as such, we want to grow and prosper as one. I think ANYTHING we can do to promote the site and encourage more people to join is exactly what we need to do, and I have quietly been making some efforts myself.
Whether it works or not is up for debate. But we MIGHT be able to do it. The worst-case scenario, at least we can say we tried.
I also suggest trolling some VERY old posts for a little while and responding to them. Many people had notifications sent to them via email. And MAYBE they see the notification and say, "Oh, myLot is still around?" and come back and give us another look.
You never know.
Either way, I think the effort is ours to make. If we want the site to succeed it is up to us to make that happen, and the more of us that do that, the more chance there is we actually succeed and bring new life to this great site.

I actually do just the opposite. I only let people I really think will respect and be a good member of this site before I tell them about it. I've been on here for many years and I have had some weird experiences. So, I am rather choosy.
I am always wondering around the different apps and finding some scary movies to watch. I have an entire list of ones I want to see too.

That would be a great Idea, I would drop off some on wall boards at some stores
or drop some off at your fav stores that know you like a hardware store pet store
coffee shop & give some to some other my lotters to pass out
