What Are Your Hobbies?

Does anybody have hobbies anymore? Mother-in-law has no hobbies. She never has. She has no interests other than shopping (and complaining! ) It's a shame because she otherwise just sits and worries. She won't read. She won't walk with the other ladies in the building. She doesn't sew or knit and won't do a jigsaw puzzle. She just has no interest in anything. I like to travel. I enjoy looking at art. I have a cat. I read. I write. I play cards once a week. Life needs to be well-balanced and LIVED; otherwise you're just existing. What are your hobbies?

I used to LOVE to cook, bake and do needlework, none of which I can do anymore. So I read a bit (hard on my eyes), watch TV, do some writing and do word puzzles.

The same ones I blab about all the time here: music, travel, history. That’ll keep anyone busy.

Is coffee a hobby? Seriously, I love to crochet especially while watching tv, love to read and do enjoy doing a jigsaw puzzle here and there.

I read a lot, as long as I can see to read... I used to crochet but recently gave my crocheting supplies to Pretty. (I taught her how to crochet when she was a teenager but she decided she wanted to start working on it again a couple of weeks ago.) When I can't see to read, I have an app on my laptop that reads to me. I load new ebooks onto it when I can see and Pretty starts the program when my eyes swell shut. I have houseplants in our kitchen. I used to grow bell peppers, tomatoes, green onions and spinach in pots on our front porch but need somebody to water those when I can't see to get in and out to water them and Pretty stopped helping me with that two years ago. Sometimes I do crossword puzzles or play solitaire on my electronic devices. I have an app called 250+ Solitaire games loaded onto my laptop, tablet and phone and play different ones of those if/when I get bored.

I walk, read, crochet, garden, color, puzzles and sew from that list. I would say the chickens and ducks are a hobby too.

I figured I'd refer to the list to determine what some actually consider hobbies. I certainly like playing my guitar and writing and recording music and even doing covers. I don't make a living writing blogs, but I do very much enjoy writing, and so, I'd say that's a hobby. I used to read more, but I think I got burned out after my stint in the publishing world as editor Ivan S. Graves. I definitely enjoy camping, but I never would have considered that a hobby. But there it is, on the list.
