Did She Have Plastic Surgery?

One of the TV shows my wife and I love to watch, and let me tell you, it's fantastically written, is Only Murders in the Building starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. I have to say, with the current season, I am having quite a bit of trouble digesting Selena Gomez. It's her voice and the thought that her jaw seems wired shut suddenly. It's hard to watch, honestly. She looks very different as well. Not just the weight loss, and good for her, although I thought she looked better before. But yeah, there have definitely been some "changes," and I am beginning to think not exactly for the better. Has anyone else noticed this about Selena? And if she is having plastic surgeries, what a shame. She was a beautiful woman already and from what I have seen of most plastic surgeries... It never makes anyone look better. And certainly something happened to her speech here which just adds to the detraction for me. Now, anytime a scene turns to her, I can't even focus on her character, I can only focus on her, and that's the complete opposite of what a performance is supposed to accomplish.

For what I read, she confirmed having Botox, she said that her changes are caused by medical treatments to cure her Lupus. May be.

I guess that's possible. I did know she had Lupus, so maybe that is it. I find her current "state" a bit annoying.

@porwest Both steroids and Botox surely affected her face and the way she talks.

She has lupus and some of the meds and steroids can affect facial features

I did know she had Lupus, but I was not aware of some of the "symptoms." It just was so noticeable it took me aback. Like I said, it's literally like her jaw is wired shut.

She was a pop star and then got into acting. She's also a businesswoman. She's a billionaire now. She also got some notoriety having dated Justin Bieber for a time.

I don't know about plastic surgeries but I have to agree. I really thought it was me that her voice sounded different and her mouth doesn't seem to move naturally.

Others are telling me, I guess, it's due to her Lupus and the treatments. But yes, it was VERY noticeable.

Speaking of Only Murders in the Building and plastic surgery, did get notice how awful Renee Zellwegger looks? She really screwed up on the plastic surgery.

What's sad is she is 56 and under scrutiny of fans and Hollywood. I wish more aging actors would be like Jamie Lee Curtis and not give a hoot what people think.

I think she had plastic surgery, her and a lot of those female stars who should be satisfied with the way they look, but ruin themselves going under the knife.

She has always talked with the slower speech like tired talking. She had kidney surgery and was on steroids for awhile from her steroid use during her lupus flares. She has stated she used botox before. She lost a lot of weight the steroids caused. I think she is beautiful.

I wanted to see that but it was on a channel we don’t have. So, not sure on ‘ treatment ‘ she may have had.
