When we went out earlier today so that The Mister and I could get something to eat we told the Grandaughter that we were going out for fodder.
“What’s fodder ?” She asked
We explained that it just meant food.
We have just. One back from evening fodder …..something different tonight ….
Southern fried chicken, sour cream, grated cheese, salsa, tortilla chips and wraps.
It was a sort of ….do it yourself ……meal
We had all the components in little tubs and had to make it up to our own liking.
It was fun actually.
Why are you having for your evening meal ?

@Traceyjayne I had to look up the definition, and there it was. Food for livestock was the primary meaning, and the secondary meaning was raw material for comedy, gossip or creative work.

I have a Meals on Wheels meal in the freezer. I will probably have that. It was some sort of beef.

It's only 3:30 pm here so not quite time for lunch for us yet Pretty is talking about putting chicken patties in the over for sandwiches, which sounds okay to me.
I'm glad you enjoyed your meal.

I think kids especially would enjoy making their own meal in that way.
