2007 - Trick 'r Treat Trick 'r Treat is a comedy horror film written and directed by Michael Dougherty. There are four Halloween stories in which Sam, a demon wearing orange footie pajamas and a burlap sack over his head metes out Halloween justice when one of the characters breaks a Halloween tradition. The movie takes place on Halloween night; and the characters cross paths throughout the film. Opening - Emma and her husband, Henry, return from a night of festivities. Emma blows out the candle in their jack-o-lantern before midnight, against Henry's advice. Principal - Charlie breaks jack-o-lanterns and steals handfuls of candy from bowls. Principal Steve Wilkins catches Charlie, gives him a candy bar and lectures him on the importance of respecting Halloween rules and traditions. Halloween School Bus Massacre - A group of 5 teenage trick-or-treaters go to a flooded quarry. Macy, one of the group, tells the others about the urban legend of the Halloween School Bus Massacre. Surprise Party - Four twenty-something girls pick up dates and head for a bonfire party in the woods. The girls reveal their true selves. Sam - Kreeg, a Halloween hater, dresses up his dog to scare away trick-or-treaters. A series of events lead up to an encounter with Sam. Conclusion - Many of the characters are shown with some surprising results. I didn't find comedy to be much of a part of this movie. It was pretty graphic and pretty scary. You will find that there are many surprise twists and endings. It's definitely one to watch for Halloween. Photo Credit: Pixabay
