I haven’t written much about Baladjie Rock as I don’t really know what to say about it and yet in some ways there is a lot I could tell you about it. Whether it is of interest or not is a whole other question!
Baladjie is another of those huge granite outcrops that are seen in the area north-east of Westonia, Western Australia, and on the edge of the viable farming land. To the east is an extensive salt lake system.
The rock is pockmarked with caves and overhangs and fractures. Small ponds on the rocks hold tadpoles, the area is fringed with sheoaks and alive with birds.
The photo shows the rock from the salt lake and a view from the top of the rock. I was quite pleased that we were able to get to the top at our age.

It sounds interesting. Do you know what type of frogs the tadpoles turn into?
