Good turnout for the baking club today

I wasn't really in the mood for it today but that's what we had planned. The students decorated cupcakes for Day of the Dead. I made the cupcakes, ordered the decorating supplies, put everything out, and let them have at it. I ran around taking pictures and trying to clean things up as they went.
The guy whose room I was using is an absolute OCD neat freak. It really is stressful to share the class with him because he doesn't want ANYTHING on counters or the desk, no like visible evidence that I was ever there, etc. I kept telling the students to make sure they cleaned everything up. When they were gone I went around and double-checked everything. I'm sure he will still have something to say about the state of the room when I get in tomorrow but I really don't care. The principal and administrators are very pleased with the amount of participation in the club so I'm sure they will back me if he complains to them.
I had asked the students to RSVP so I didn't run out of supplies or buy too much. Well I still bought too much but that's okay. I can save the sanding sugar, paper decorations, sprinkles, and edible paint for another project. ( @AmbiePam they LOVED the edible paints!) In any case I get reimbursed from the club's account for whatever I buy so it isn't like anything is coming out of my pocket.
Not sure what we are going to do for the next meeting in 2 weeks. I wasn't planning to make/decorate stuff each time but they are really excited about it. I don't think they are going to be thrilled watching a decorating demonstration by my pastry chef friend.

Just out of curiosity, how is this being funded? Do the kids have to pay dues?

No. We have monthly bake sales. I don't know exactly how much money was in the account before I took over but there was some there. Last month we made $340. The first 2 projects have been about $200. I don't want to have to ask them to pay dues but I will if I need to.

I'm glad it went well. You could still do a baking demonstration even though not all can participate.
