Hershey's means chocolate

I just read a short biography of Milton Hershey, the founding father of the Hershey's chocolate company, and Hershey, Pennsylvania.
I do not know if Facebook featured this because it is National Chocolate Day, or because kids will Trick or Treat this week, but it was interesting.
I had never known much about him. It turns out that he failed at businesses twice before his success with Hershey's Chocolate. With his success he developed the town of Hershey around his factory, providing a good living place for his employees.
He married, but he and his wife could not have children, and this was prior to adoption being common or accepted, so Milton and Kitty started homes for orphaned boys. They began with just four boys and provided homes and education for them.
In his lifetime he benefitted many underprivileged boys. Kitty preceded him in death, but Milton continued their dream. In fact, he left his fortune to endow the continuing work of caring for needy children when he passed.
The Hershey's brand is known worldwide. But Milton Hershey's real legacy isn't candy—it's the thousands of children who grew up knowing that someone they never met believed they deserved a chance.
"Most billionaires leave their money to children who'll inherit comfort. Milton Hershey left his entire company to children who'd inherit nothing—and gave them everything instead.
That's not just philanthropy. That's love turned into institution. That's grief transformed into hope. That's one couple's dream of parenthood becoming thousands of childhoods worth living.
Every Hershey bar is sweet. But the story behind it? That's even sweeter."
Even today the Hershey's candy we all love is providing a legacy to kids.

I am, and always have been absolutely fascinated by business and the stories of the men and women behind them. There are a couple of great documentaries done by the History Channel you have to watch. "...That Built America." They dive into fast food businesses, the food business and other types of businesses. Very interesting stuff, and gives one not only a glimpse into the men and women who attained great wealth, but also of their many struggles getting there.

Yes, he was. And he must have been smart even if not well educated.

@GardenGerty - Many famous and successful men were uneducated: John Rockefeller, Mark Twain, Henry Ford, the list is long.

I didn't know any of that about Hershey but it certainly is heartwarming.
I live in Pennsylvania and yet have never been to Hershey park nor the chocolate factory.
