2019 - Us Us is a psychological horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele. It was a commercial success, bringing in $256.1 million with a budget of $20 million. The movie was nominated for many awards, including 4 Critics' Choice Movie Awards, 3 MTV Movie & TV Awards, 8 NAACP Image Awards, etc. In 1986 at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, young Adelaide Wilson (Madison Curry) , wanders away from her parents and enters a funhouse/hall of mirrors. She runs into a little girl who looks and is dressed exactly like her. Adelaide suffers a trauma from the encounter and stops speaking. 33 years later, Adelaide (Lupita Nyong'o) and her husband, Gabe (Winston Duke) are on vacation with their children Zora (Shahadi Wright Joseph) and Jason (Evan Alex). They are joined by friends Josh (Tim Heidecker) and Kitty (Elisabeth Moss) Tyler and their twin daughters Becca (Cali Sheldon) and Lindsey (Noelle Sheldon). Later that evening the lights go out in the house. A family of four is seen standing in the dark driveway...not moving...not speaking. Scary stuff! The four break into the house; and the terrified Wilsons discover that under the masks that they are wearing, the other family looks exactly like them. The story evolves into a widespread problem; and the reason for the doppelgangers is explained. There is plenty of action and some violence as the Wilsons struggle to survive. Photo Credit: Pixabay
