I think she is crazy

Or at any rate, mistaken.
We have fourteen three, four and five year olds in our morning class. Our lead teacher has planned for us to walk to the Assisted Living, interact with the grandmas and grandpas and do a craft and trick or treat. Then we will walk back, and take off our costumes and have lunch and be ready to leave to go home at 11:30. She is planning to start at 10:25.
No one has questioned her timing out loud, but I think we need to leave for the Assisted Living at 9:45 at the latest. Especially with the extra steps required with my handicapped student.
I will report back later, if I survive.

She admitted, when we got back, that it was a lot. We had parents come and help as well, which was nice.

Maybe when she plans something else, she will allow some extra time. Hopefully, lesson learned.

Sounds like she is mistaken with time. It's not possible to go with young ones and that too handicapped ones and complete it so quick. Little ones don't like to be rushed.

Fifteen minutes more would have been nice. We had several parents along as well. The craft was very simple, so that helped too. The problem occurs with putting kids into costumes and then out of costumes for lunch.

@GardenGerty I hope that all went well and smoothly. I can understand it well as I work with younger children too. It's not an easy task handling them and making them do something like that. Good that the simple craft made it a bit easier to handle

That's certainly not enough time. Have fun Heather.

We could have used at least an extra 15 minutes. Lunch was complicated.

Wow! It's 37F out there right now! I hope everybody has a warm coat and shoes to do that much walking!
That doesn't sound like enough time for that much activity to me, either. I hope everything works out for everyone.

There was no wind, and it was up over forty. Everyone had costumes and so it was warm enough. The craft was pretty simple. No glue required.

@GardenGerty Good! Was there any trouble getting back in time for lunch and to catch the buses home?

The ones who wanted to see us came out into the lobby area and had trick or treat candy. The kids were really cute.

i hope you survived cause, this is too challenging; theory is one but reality is something else.

Yes, the reality is that fourteen or so kids and six or seven parents takes up more time logistically.

We survived, it was fun. Some parents were along as well so that was a bit of a plus at lunch.

I guess it all depends how far away it is.

I hope it all goes well. So she's only giving about an hour to walk there, do a craft, trick or treat and then walk back? Is she allowing for walking time?

I think she was timing what it would be like for one to two kids, but we all know it goes slower the more little ones you bring. It was okay.

With us needing to do a Head Start approved lunch, more time would have helped.

That does seem like tight timing. Hope it goes smoothly

She admitted later that more time would have been good, but yes, we did survive. And had fun.

Leaving at 10:25 doesn't sound right at all. I hope it all went well.
