I Think I Might Be Sick After Traveling Again

I seem to get "sick" every time I get home from a trip and return to the Ohio Valley crud we have here in Louisville, Kentucky.
Or maybe it's just when I return from cruises after having been around 4,000 other people.
Or maybe it' s the the Fall allergies.
But I am stiff and achy all over and my head and nose are congested.
I am so weird - I seem to always get sick when I get home from a trip.

@looeyville I would blame the infectious crowd you sail with. We always stay away from sneezing, coughing crowds and so many people don’t wash their hands after you know what - it’s a wonder the human race hasn’t perished. Did the chef wash his hands before handling my food? Who knows? I dread flying to England and back in December for this reason. So many really dirty people to rub shoulders with. Have you ever “accidentally” squirted disinfectant at a fellow traveller, or even perfume?

I did wear my mask on the two flights home but it was probably too late at that point. I wasn't feeling poorly yet but I was probably already infected.

I am pretty sure that your immunities are compromised. I have a friend here that likes bus tours and she flies a lot. She has literally been sick after every single trip for over a year now. She has decided she was done traveling where there are big crowds and congestion, her doctor said all the illnesses she has brought home have really affected her health. Cruises are so many people packed in such a tight space. I’m sorry you are sick again.

My friend always takes that stuff, too. I am sure you still want to travel. It's just hard to face getting home and feeling sick.

I drank the Emergen-C Vitamin C stuff every night during the cruise. I felt fine on the cruise. It's always when I get back home to the Ohio Valley that I get sick. It's annoying. I still want to travel.

I'm sorry to hear that you're sick again but I would think it would be from traveling. Hopefully you'll feel better quickly and it won't turn into something that lingers.

I'm sorry that happens to you. Pretty and I still wear masks just to go grocery shopping in our little city and wash well as soon as we get home. You never know who is going to give you their viruses.
