Can I Call it a Windfall?

I don't remember exactly when it was. A year ago, or maybe two? I'm talking about the Facebook settlement I signed up for. My payment finally arrived in my PayPal account. $35.30. I feel so vindicated. Should I jump for joy? Put a down payment on a yacht? Can I call it a windfall? I'm not sure what to think, and honestly, it's hard to concentrate when I am laughing.

Sounds like a windfall to me hard to figure out what to do with all that money but I'm sure you will figure out a way to double or triple it somehow.

Double it or triple it? Indeed I will. lol. These settlements are really about getting lawyers paid. They're the ones who really make good on these. As for the people they're supposed to be made good for? Not so much. It is what it is.

@Marilynda1225 I think they are staggering payments, but not sure based on what criteria. I know some people got payments a couple of months ago. I got mine, apparently October 27th. Some are getting them this month. So, if you signed up, it's probably coming.

Pretty and I just received those payments in our PayPal accounts, too. We got different amounts from you... It depends on when you signed up for Fakebook in the first place. I signed up when Fakebook was still new so I could talk with a friend who was a missionary in Peru at the time. That was the only way he could talk to family and friends. No matter how much we got, it isn't enough, in my opinion.

Really, these lawsuits tend not to be about righting wrongs or making people who are affected "whole." It's about giving the lawyers who bring them the biggest paydays. They are really the only ones who make out good on these.

My payment showed up about a week ago. I'm rolling in the dough now! I have another settlement I'll eventually receive, from Amazon. It could be up to $50, but I'm not holding my breath that I'll receive the full amount. But anything is better than nothing.

Well, that would suck. I mean, not that's all that much. But anything is better than nothing.

Yeah, I think the amount is based on when you joined. I will just invest mine.

What was the settlement for? And how many organic chickens can you buy with that?
