Banana muffins today

So today we had a change from the usually weekly blueberry muffins. Today Mom has made banana muffins.
The reason for this is that there were a couple of bananas left that needed using up. We are going shopping tomorrow so can get fresh ones, but Mom didn’t want to waste the remaining bananas and using them in the muffins was a perfect solution.
So, yes, just had a delicious banana muffin for my pudding after our tea.
Yummy.

Really? I've never heard of putting butter on top of a muffin of any kind.

@Traceyjayne I thought everyone tried that. I guess I’m in the minority. It has to be warm muffins though so the butter can melt.

I prefer blueberry muffins or want white cake with icing on it. I will eat banana muffins but that isn't what you asked. 
You/your mom could have frozen the aging bananas and used them in a smoothie. (I don't like bananas once they start getting dark spots on them but Pretty will still use those in smoothies. I actually prefer my bananas when they're still slightly green.)

@Traceyjayne I don't like smoothies and wish Pretty didn't like them either. She makes a lot of them and I don't like washing the glasses or the mixer all the time.
I do like sponge cake with smashed and sugared strawberries on it but no, white cake is white cake.

For banana bread / cake / muffins , the bananas MUST be past their best.
We don’t have smoothies.
Is a white cake simply a plain sponge ?

I love banana muffins and banana bread but I certainly wouldn't turn down a blueberry muffin.

I often make a banana cake when any bananas get too ripe for eating. It's better than throwing them out.
