Have you ever got points on or lost your driving license ?

I was talking to The Mister earlier and he was telling me about a work colleague of his ….who I have met a few times ….and the fact that due to several speeding offences he has now lost his license.
Unfortunately, they have a job which means they have to travel, sometimes hours away from home. They stay in digs for the week and return home at the weekend. Obviously they have to drive from the digs each morning to where they are working and drive back at night. Also they need to do shopping for the week.
So, this guy has completely messed up !
For 6 months he is going to have to rely on his work partner to pick him up from home and return him at the end of the week, and take him to the shops each week.
Not sure what will happened at the weekends as his wife is living in a different country ….
How he could be so stupid is beyond me ….he knows he needs a license as driving is a huge part of his work life.
Have you ever got points on your license or have you lost it ….obviously you don’t have to say ….or have you known anyone who this has happened to ?

I've gotten speeding tickets but never lost my license. If I lost points, they never told me about it.
I had a friend who lost his license for a year because he kept getting stopped for drunk driving. I drove him everywhere for the year. He got to enjoy being a passenger and not having to pay for gas or maintenance on his vehicle. He was a good friend or I would have been irritated about that.

@Traceyjayne No. I made sure all my ducks were well in a row when I was out and about.

I've never had an accident, a ticket or even a warning.

When I did have a driver's license, I never had any problems. Now I no longer dirve,

@traceyjayne I was caught bombing through a village not far from me at 37 MPH last year. I did the naughty boy speed awareness course rather than get points on my license and actually am a better driver for it. Of course the course was more expensive than just taking the fine, but it was avoiding the points that mattered. Since I'm retired and my wife drives it wouldn't be a disaster if I lost my license.

@Traceyjayne This must be why my wife's insurance is cheaper than mine.

It seems that despite men always making fun of women drivers it is more men that are getting speeding fines !

Yes I have, I got up to six points (two speeding offences) once years ago. One of them was a 'fair cop' as it were. The second was annoying because I was driving at 3 am when there was absolutely nobody around and I was caught by a speed camera because I came out of a junction after the warning sign but before the camera
. But yes I agree, to commit four offences is careless.
