A pleasant walk along Lesmurdie Falls

The photo were all taken on our walk at Lesmurdie Falls. The falls are pretty insignificant compared to many I guess. They are a little bit more spectacular in the middle of winter but it’s still a nice area to visit and you do get good views of the city if it’s not too smoky or hazy. We were with our german friends and the first people we met were two Germans! They were with an Australian woman who told us she was a member of HelpX, an organisation which helps get people together for mutual benefit. So you might host someone for a week and in return they agree to work x hours a day. This lady had recently lost her husband and the couple were helping with her garden. There are all sorts of variations on this theme and it sounds a great idea although it wouldn’t work for us. The only thing we/I would like is someone to clean my bathroom!

I like all places where there is running water, the falls are not big but pretty. I wonder how this happens all the time, you go to a distant country and you meet people from your native country.

@JudyEv Often the too high falls frighten me.

I love the sound of running water. And yes, falls don't have to be big to be pretty and enjoyable.

I'm glad you enjoyed the walk. That sounds like a nice trade. They get to stay with her and she gets help with her garden. It also keeps her from being lonely/thinking too much about losing her hubby.

We could have made good use of such a service when we had our 18 acres.

@JudyEv I'm wondering how well a service like that would go over here in the US. Mom could have used more help on the farm when we kids were in school after dad passed away.

Nice pictures. The trade-off thing sounds good if only for some company. I could use some company.

Maybe they have a similar thing there or it could even be a worldwide organisation.

What are the odds of a German meeting a German?

While they're here, they seem to be gravitating towards Germans. There have been other instances too. We do have a lot of young people backpacking through our country.

Great photos. You could ask them to clean that for you
