Notes From a Vacation

So, Amyra and I have been awake for an hour, and everyone else will sleep for about another half hour. We’ll get home Saturday. Here are some observations and realizations I’ve made since last Friday.
1.My six year old niece, Annelyn, is scary smart. Like, incredibly smart.
2. It does not matter if you are in a scooter. People have terrible manners. Incidentally, in a scooter, I am a defensive driver while my BIL is offensive driver. He will yell at you if you Willy nilly cross in front of him (it is legit dangerous to do that), while I go through yelling excuse me, sorry, excuse me, sorry.
3. Amyra (14) is the sweetest, but very much a teenager. The sass to her parents is real.
4. Hudson makes it impossible to sleep through the night, poor kid.
5. Don’t mess with my BIL. You will be sorry.
6. People still stare at special needs children.
7. People still use vile language in child friendly places like there is no tomorrow.
8. Sometimes I forget how beautiful God’s creations are until times like this trip.
9. I am definitely a roller coaster person.
10. Mothers never cease to amaze me in how much they do for their children (yes, yes, I realize fathers do too, but what I saw this weekend was motherhood above and beyond).
And finally, I’m perfectly happy being childless.

well, you are getting up close and personal with people, that is bound to bring out the good and the bad. Sometimes good and bad exist in the same person..well I guess we all knew that. I realize it isn't the biggest deal in the world, but yesterday there was a line waiting for the pumps and this young girl was sitting at the pump for 5 minutes, and then went in the store!!! leaving her car at the pump of course. I mean if you are making a quick trip to pay inside fine, but God knows what she was doing in there. When she finally came back I was steamed. I told her if you want to go in the store pull up when there is a line at the pump. Just yesterday or the day before there was a guy sitting at the pump eating a sandiwch instead of pulling into an available space to do that...OMG, I wish the station would post a sign telling people not to sit at the pumps.

@AmbiePam It is annoying as Hell. That station is very busy certain times of the day, and people who waste everyone's time get on my nerves big time.

Well,
"Sometimes good and bad exist in the same person..well I guess w....."
Somehow it points me to some of the tales and stories in our ancient epics.
Plus in our Mythological theory of Yugas (eras), the current Yuga (Kaliyuga) is said to be the one where the main conflict is inside one's mind and body - of wrong & right.
But well, not going too much into that serious direction, I think lack of Civil sense seems to be a growing problem in many parts of the world.
In some ways, it is related to the short content - YouTube Shorts and Insta reels that is making people impatient and sometimes lethargic.
Patience is getting down.
Even I sometimes feel that I am less patient than before but that could be due to circumstances.
Anyways have a nice time forward.

Such cute desserts . . . like a high tea style
.
Families are certainly a cast of characters, aren't they? Especially the kids as they grow up - gotta love 'em.
Yah, people aren't always mindful . . . the world still needs a lot of work on how to treat others.
My cousin never wanted children. She said being a teacher to a classroom of them was enough for her . . . she could be with kids for a few hours and then send them home

I would not want to bring children into this world, personally.

Apparently, a LOT of adults under 50 have decided that childlessness is a must. (Like 47% of under 50 adults in the US decided this.)
I am quite happy with the daughter I have.

The desserts are tempting!!!
Yeah Point 6 is really weird....it's as if they have never seen a special needs child...I mean what's the point of staring!
Yeah Nature amazes me too. I am always on an emotional roller coaster!

I did read through all of your points but the "Sweet Tooth Sinner" in me had a very - very greedy look at the sweet delicacies that we are seeing in the picture above !
Very relevant points. Some people do not stop using bad language as if they cannot do away with it.
And yes, mothers do so much for kids, fathers cannot do that much in terms of love.
But well, fathers have their own place and importance in Kids' lives.

I can relate to the part of being childless since I am only an uncle and not a dad. Taking care of cats is my dealing with children,
