We're back, without the tube.

The doctor removed the old tube, agreeing it should've been removed a long time ago. He did not replace it, respecting George's wishes. However, if George gets sick, starts having more pain, or starts loosing to much weight, then we'll revisit putting a new tube in. In December, he has a post-pp appoitment to see how the stoma has healed, and how he's doing overall.
He has a dressing over the stoma, and he's chilling in front of the t.v. I could've left his pepsi at home, because he's not allowed to have or (wasn't) until 5pm. He thought he'd been in and out in like five minutes, not all day. BUt that's how it is when you're put under. He'll be good and hydraded because they gave him like two and a half leaters of fluids. So, he should be fine, today, but I'll be looking for signs of dehydration over the next couple of days, and and hope he's more willing to accept a tube, if he realizes he's not hydrating enough. But, again, we'll have to see.

Lets hope for the best, and that he will hydrate. Reinforce every drink he takes, or food he eats. Will he eat pudding?

Me too. I'm anxious as all hell, but that's what it is.

@sallypup George's been trying to eat orally with the tube, so that's helped some. But now that it's out, the preasure dressing is causing another not-so-fun complication. It's causing whatever he drinks to come out of the stoma, and somehow around his back.

@kaylachan I remember the first days and weeks when I wasn't sure what my husband would eat or could eat. Not hilarious when he's okay in his chair then in a second he's tossing food all over himself.

He is listening and asked for the nutrition shake over pepsi, so I feel a bit more confident.
