Off to a concert today

We’re leaving in a few hours to go to Merredin where we’re attending a sea shanty concert. I’m looking forward to seeing the venue as it’s listed as a tourist attraction so it might be a bit more than a simple town hall. Vince’s doctor sings in the group and with luck we’ll meet up with them about an hour from here at a pie shop to have lunch together. We’re taking Vince’s brother with us and paying for him as a thank you for the time he spent helping Vince fix a leak in our motorhome. The doctor’s wife and brother both work in the practice with him. The wife has her own sea shanty group but I don’t think they’ll be singing tonight. We won’t be back till tomorrow afternoon so I won’t be able to read your posts till after that. I’ve put the same photo up a few years ago. It’s in Merredin and is another clever sculpture made from scrap metal.

I hope you have a good time and enjoy the concert. Thanks for the memories. My godfather was a doctor and specialist who was also a very talented bass-baritone singer. Amazingly I found this on YouTube in the photo my godfather Janis Klavins is the picture on the left.

@RasmaSandra That would have been a good age for those times.

I love reading about your adventures. It would be amazing to hear them sing. I am in awe of how this horse was so cleverly built.

This is a very innovative use of scrap metal! Hats off to guys who do this. I hope that your concert goes well! Is Merredin near Perth or closer to some other major city? Have a nice weekend.

Those pieces of art amaze me with their detail. Here in America, if you saw your doctor at a concert they’d probably charge you a visit fee. (Kidding) Hope you had a great time!

Looking at that metal horse the "Trojan Horse" came to my mind. Enjoy your sea shanty concert, the place must be pretty.
