Are You Using Aluminum Foil in Your Air Fryer?

The air fryer has become a very popular kitchen appliance over the last few years. Many are using aluminum foil in them to keep them clean. But, It is a good idea to check your owner's manual before doing so. Some manufacturers do not recommend using it at all while others have specific instructions on its use. And here are three reasons why: * Using aluminum foil can prevent food from crisping up nicely but instead keep it moist. It depends on the outcome you want. * Leaving it lose or letting it near the fan or heating element can cause damage to the air fryer and even cause a fire. * The risk of aluminum exposure in using it in this way is minimal but it is a good idea to limit exposure to aluminum in any form. Do you use one?

I don't have one. Foil can definitely cause damage.

We will try this one at some point. I doubt we would invest in one.

I gave our air fryer away years ago. I couldn't keep grease from accumulating in corners. I gave it one last good clean and passed it on to friends. I hated the thing!

I doubt this one we were given is much good. It's small. We'll try it out. I've been curious about them for heating tator tots and such.

@celticeagle At least you'll be able to try it out and see what you think.

My friend Dixie has an air dryer and that made me decide not to buy one.

I tried an air fryer and brought it back to the store, I did not like at all.

That seems to be the consensus here.

@celticeagle I really cannot understand how it can be so popular. It gets greasy and it's hard to clean, it's a small space, the food that should get out crispy gets out burned or mushy. I tried to make French fries in it and it was a total failure.

I don't like air fryers. So don't need to worry about it

I'm not sure I do either. We were recently given one so will see how my daughter likes it.

We have sometimes used foil and had no problems. We usually use the proper liners though. They work great.

I don't have an air fryer so I have no reason to use something that might strip the coating off.

It's a good idea not to.

I doubt I would, but my daughter might enjoy trying it out.
