Hubby and I made it to the pool this morning. The head lifeguard is starting to look for trouble. He told us today that next time we go in he is going to count how many steps it is from the bench by the pool to the pool. He is doing that cause my hubby can't see. Oh I hope there aren't fireworks. Hubby hates and detests being singled out. The lifeguard means well BUT hubby will not want to be reminded that he is blind and now folks look at him as fragile. This might not be pretty. (Big news: NOT all blind people count steps. NOT all blind people have guide dogs.) Tomorrow at 11:45 AM Beau Teak kitty goes in for another centesis treatment- the Vet uses a needle to take fluid from both sides of his chest. Beau has a runnier nose today. For sure he needs treatment. He still moves around fine and demands food but for sure, its time for another round of Vet help. And Thanksgiving is almost here. I want to go to Safeway for snacks and shortening for pie crust and you bet- dog treats. Maybe some pretty flowers just cause.

Blindness is a spectrum. You never know how each person will react. There are some people who are blind who having anxiety about using public tolits, because they don't know how to navigate it. Me, I'm blind and never had a problem with that. I have more trouble in public restrooms with heavy doors and no button on the wall that actually works.

There was a blind lady at Disneyland moving faster than her friend walking beside her. They were both moving faster than me! I hope you do treat yourself to some flowers. I have a few bouquets of crocheted flowers, but there is nothing like real ones.

Right - the lifeguard is just trying to play it safe, but no one appreciates being called out like that. Hope Beau's treatment session goes well. Hope you have have a wonderful Thanksgiving with flowers and good eats

@much2say Agreed. I hope your holiday is wonderful. We're mostly having an ordered in Domino's vegetarian pizza, and snacks. I do plan to make a pecan pie Thursday morning.
