It's The Day Before Turkey Day

Happy Wednesday Everyone! fog and rain greeted me this morning and it's just miserable looking outside. Thankfully it's too warm to freeze or else all this would be ice. Nope! I'm certainly not ready for any of that. Today I'll be spending more time in the kitchen. I'm going to be making my apple crumb pie and also stuffed mushrooms to bring to my daughters tomorrow. She's doing most of the cooking but everyone will be bringing something. Since we're a big family and everyone brings something, it's a given that there will be leftovers. I can't help but wonder if I'm looking forward to tomorrows feast or more that we'll have leftovers to enjoy over the weekend. It's this time of year when I miss my mom the most. Even though our Thanksgiving table is full it's hard not to think of those no longer with us. I'm sure there is someone (or someones) no longer at your Thanksgiving table . Who do you miss the most?

I cut the pecan pie a little bit ago and just finished a slice of it. I miss mom the most, I think . She's been gone since 2002.

Glad you enjoyed your pecan pie. I baked my apple crumb and it looks really good. Too bad I can't have my piece today and bring it with a missing slice Its hard not to miss certain people especially around the holidays. Your mom has been gone for awhile

@Marilynda1225 You could take it with a piece missing. After all, they'll only tease you about not being able to wait. They'll still eat it with a slice missing.

@DaddyEvil it certainly is tempting guess it would be the talk of the day and years down the road the grandkids would be saying " remember the year Nanny brought the pie with the piece missing"

Although I miss my maternal grandfather, there is no one I miss more than my mom. Getting a few days to soak up her presence during the holidays was such a gift. You said stuffed mushrooms and I came to full attention. I love those! I hope you get plenty of those yummy leftovers!

I miss my grandparents too (dad's parents) they always made the holidays festive, memorable and most of my family traditions come from them. Like you, I just miss my mom

I'm sure it would be nice if he was physically there but getting to talk to him is a plus.

Those stuffed mushrooms sure sound good. Our turkey this year is so delicious. Not dry at all. Very tasty. I'm watching the Macy parade. I love leftovers.

I hope you have a wonderful time. Leftovers are always welcome! I miss my husband so much. It's still very hard for me.
