Be careful what you wish for

There was an interesting, and disturbing, news item today. Firstly, I could never understand the reason why women would subject their bodies to botox and filler injections but to each their own I guess. I particularly think the fat lips just look so gross.
A woman in Melbourne had hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler injected into her face in 2015. She was told it was only temporary and would be absorbed over time.
However, she hated the results and has since spent thousands of dollars trying to prove that the filler is still in her face. Some specialists didn’t believe the filler could still be there; another suggested a facelift and others said she had body dysmorphia.
Finally, she found a surgeon who suggested taking an MRI of her face. This proved that the filler was still there. This will be good news for all those who have had their fears dismissed as nonsense although the article didn’t mention what could be done to remove it, if anything.
You can read the full story here: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11-29/side-effects-of-cosmetic-filler-dissolver-hyaluronidase/106050856
The photo is of a friend whose face we ‘doctored’ in Photoshop.

There is this “reality star” in the United States whose face has become totally disfigured. They thought it was filler, so they had that dissolved, then they thought a parasite had somehow “hitched” a ride into her face through the Botox or other filler. She’s had multiple procedures to rid herself of things, and she looks ravaged. Whatever the results of what she had done, somehow cannot be diagnosed or fixed.
Women like her and the one you mentioned make me sad.

I agree. It's too risky for starters and just doesn't make sense.

Some people are never satisified with what is.

Once you start doing things like that you subject yourself to all kinds of problems.

I think so too. My nephew had his stomach banded and he's had no end of trouble since. It's been a nightmare.

I am sorry this has happened to her, but I am glad she has been proven to be right.

I am so glad not to be the only woman not to appreciate the botox and filler injection. I particularly dislike those large fat lips. There is a procedure to remove the filler, another chemical to be injected which breaks down hyaluronic acid-based fillers. I will never go for a treatment like that. Some wrinkles are more natural than a flat smooth face when you age.
A famous Italian model (Linda Evangelista) has been disfigured by those fillers. @wolfgirl569 (125636)

Glad she proved it was still there. But I don't understand doing it either

Even I wonder why they would do this to themselves. But then each one has their own choice and freedom. I can't relate to going through all this pain and suffering just to look beautiful. I have seen few horrible videos of such things going terribly bad and people having all disfigured faces.

"why women would subject their bodies to Botox and filler injections"
I'm with you on this as well, But on the other hand there's that thought
they need it for what ever reason & things don't go as they planned.
