Some Reasons It's Best to Sleep on Your Left Side

I have been reading where it is an advantage for a person to sleep on their left side rather that the right. Here are some reasons why:
* Better blood flow. Less pressure on internal organs.
* Sleeping on this side can actually alleviate snoring and make the effects of sleep apnea less severe.
* It is also better for a pregnant woman because it improves blood flow to the fetus and reduces pressure on the uterus.
* Compared to sleeping on the right side sleeping on the left can reduce acid reflux and aid in digestion.
* It can also contribute to better spinal alignment and may reduce back pain.

When I slept in bed, I almost always slept on my left side. Interesting facts.

That's an important reason to sleep on the left then.

@celticeagle I force myself to sleep on the left side and not on the right one.

I'm a right side sleeper or stomach sleeper, I've never been good at being a left side sleeper and not with lack of trying.

I keep going on my right side. It seems more comfortable to me.

@celticeagle I think that's the same for most of us. I can sometimes sleep on my left, but I don't tend to stay long.

It depends on what I'm doing when I fall asleep which side I sleep on. If I'm reading an ebook, I'm on my left side and will fall asleep that way. If I'm watching videos online, I'm on my right side and will fall asleep that way.

@celticeagle The instructions on my CPAP machine just say not to sleep on my back as that can cause issues with the CPAP machine.

I don't think that I do. I think you have a lot going on both during sleep and when you are awake.

I cannot stay on one side all night, I start off with sleeping on the left side, then turn to the right side and often end up sleeping on my back until I get out of bed,

I can't sleep on my back or stomach. It's one side or the other.
