1 December - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good evening from cold and snowy Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. The temperature is hovering around 20 F with snow falling all around. Today has been a good day. Why? Wait for it --- I went shopping and you'll never guess what I bought. If you guessed bananas, you're right. I didn't need anything else, but I did pick up some fresh cranberries. I didn't make cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving and my son told me if I didn't have it for Christmas, he wasn't coming to dinner. I found them and brought them home too. Christmas is saved. Well, dinner anyway. I'm thankful I came back to see what you're all doing. I missed you, but I've been so busy with writing, editing to publish, and not freezing to death. The furnace went out in September. Which was good because it took them a month to get the part. As soon as they fixed my furnace, my neighbor's went out. With as cold as it was these last few days, it was freezing in her apartment. She ended up calling the police because she's handicapped and elderly like everyone else in this complex and she has rights to have heat. The police came and the office called back to let her know the part would be here on Thursday. If she hadn't called the police this morning, I'm sure she would have been waiting longer. We really need management who cares about its residents. I'm thankful for my Secret Santa gift. I haven't even bought mine yet for the person I have this year and I had a large bag outside my door when I opened it this morning. It became my lunch - a small French bread loaf, box of spaghetti, and Prego spaghetti sauce. I made up the entire box. I have leftovers. I'm thankful for the work I did on Firestorm today. I also wanted to get back to Faith to Believe. I will as I want to get that one published as soon as possible. Still looks like January or as late as February. I have so much to be thankful for. My health for one. I might be using a walker, sometimes I feel like I don't need it, but until the doctor says otherwise or the bone spurs mysteriously vanish or the arthritis heals in my foot, I don't think he's going to say otherwise. I'm thankful for Christmas. There is so much joy in this season. Just listening to Christmas music since October has put a smile on my face and in my heart. Snow isn't the only thing to put a smile on my face. Christmas and the reason wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger is sure to get me in a happy mood. There's nothing more important in life than a relationship with Jesus. He is my everything! I'm thankful for the scale. My weight hasn't moved much in the time I've been gone, but it's now on or below 200. Which is an improvement. I need it to keep going down. I'm thankful for the love of my family. My daughter has called me several times just to talk. So awesome! My son is also close by and if I need him, he's here for me. I'm thankful for so much more than I have time to write. God's blessing continue to grow in my life. What are you thankful for today? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

Bananas? You must get some good ones where you are. We don't so I have not had a good one in a couple of years. Sounds like you are keeping busy with your writing and seasonal stuff. How nice that you live where you do and have nice friends. I enjoy the season too. It is nice to see you on here again.

I look for the best ones I can find. Sometimes it's not easy. Yes, I've kept myself busy. I like it here and the people are nice for the most part. There are always a couple that like to start trouble. Thank you.

I am thankful to have my loving husband. And his love and support despite his challenges of having a stroke. I'm thankful he managed to make it through Walmart today and didn't back down. I thought he'd turn tail when I couldn't find a working eletric cart. But, no. He walked a good portion of the store, costing me 30 dollars on laundry detergent I could've gotten for ten at Aldi, but we have it now and won't need any until next year. I'm thankful for the little things.

I’m so glad to hear all of that. I’m thrilled calling the police did something for your neighbor. That’s so dangerous! Yesterday, I was thankful for the allergy medicine usage test that will result in $40. I was also thankful the Housing Authority could move my appointment back to December 10th since I am so sick. I really appreciated her doing that.

Yes, it is dangerous and it's not fixed yet. We expected it would be yesterday. More disappointment. We have a plan. I'm glad you'll get $40 for the usage test. I'm glad the Housing Authority could move your appointment.

Bananas was an easy guess. Glad your neighbor called the police. Hope they truly do get it fixed for her. Thankful for a warm house. NOT thankful for the 3 inches of white crap you let escape

I bought two bunches. I have one bunch left. You need snow to make those outdoor decorations look good.
