What I Found Out About Vertigo

I did some research last night as to what causes vertigo. It seems that it can be caused by several things. Excessive fluid buildup in the inner ear, tumors, stroke, low blood pressure and even Parkinson's Disease. Back in the 70's I was in a car accident in which I received a concussion. I have often wondered down through the years since then if I may have gotten a tumor. No headaches or anything that caused me to seek medical care. But now I am getting these bouts of vertigo. I think I would have some pain if it were caused from a tumor, so I have pretty much eliminated that possibility.
I am also in the process of changing doctors so when I have my first visit, I will discuss this with my new doctor. I'm thinking it is probably an inner ear thing. I do need to see an ear doctor too but all in good time.
I just don't care for this vertigo. It lasts only a few seconds, but it takes me on a rip-roaring roller coaster ride I don't really want to be on.

@celticeagle - For him to was severe, he could not even get up from the bed, but I have learnt a series of exercises to adjust the fluids in the inner ear.

It’s good that you’re planning to talk to your new doctor and maybe an ear specialist. Hopefully they can pinpoint the cause and help you get some relief soon!

It's definitely possible you have some sort of inner ear thing going on to cause the vertigo. But, it's best to mention it to your doctor when you go.

I'm glad you will discuss this with your doctor. I had it years ago when I had an infection in my eustachean tubes. Not sure of the spelling.
