How I spent Thanksgiving break 2025

Friday my little one had off school so she and I had a fun day out. We drove two hours away and found some neat geocaches and little free libraries. Our last stop of the day was to play at a library.
While we were out she asked if tomorrow was thanksgiving and I said yes. She screamed and said I’m so excited. I can feel the thanks in my heart. How cute is that!
On thanksgiving My husband went hunting and my little one and I made Banana cinnamon pecan cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. The frosting was tasty but even adding an extra banana the cupcakes weren’t very moist.
Friday evening we went to my mother in laws house to see my sister in law get married. It was just inside their living room and there was pizza and cake. It was unusual but if that’s what they wanted I hope it was wonderful for them.
Saturday we just stayed home. My husbands leg and hip were bothering him.
Sunday my husband and I went to a new cafe where we had a gift card. It was expensive there but the food was good and it was a unique place.
Monday my girls and I along with my oldest daughter’s friend went thrifting. We went to a new coffee place and a cheesecake restaurant too.
Tuesday school was cancelled due to snow. I mostly did a lot of cleaning and I undecorated from thanksgiving as well.
Photo is of two of our dogs believing they were small enough to fit on the tiny dog bed.

@Judyev I don’t think I ever get time to just sit and relax
. Every night I intend to but then it gets to bedtime and I haven’t had a minute to sit down. These puppies are so much cleanup. I’ve been decorating for Christmas for days. That was a task. Too big of a tree I picked

@LadyDuck the one sister and I offered to help with anything that was needed for the wedding and we basically got barked at so we stayed out of it. If it was me I would have taken the help or at least felt grateful. But I do hope her wedding was perfect for her with what she wanted. Her husband gets to stay here until February then he has to go back to England for 3 months. I think after that he can move here permanently.

@shaggin None of us would. I called him the next day to ask if he told his son not to discuss politics. He told me they discussed it in the car on the way to our house.
The last Thanksgiving we had was unbearable. My nephew cleared the entire room except for my husband. Hubs tried reasoning with him. You can’t change people’s opinions regarding politics.

You had a lot going on. I had a house full of family. It was our best Thanksgiving ever, especially since my brother and nephew didn’t talk politics or make racist comments.
