Shows and Crushes

@celticeagle was talking about her TV addiction and mentioned so many old shows I loved as a kid, and still do. It got me thinking about how different my friends, my sisters, and I were when it came to our TV crushes.
For example, on The Virginian, they were all about Clu Gulager (Emmett Ryker) and Doug McClure (Trampas). Meanwhile, I was over there crushing on Randy Boone, who played Randy Benton.
Same thing with Bonanza. They swooned over Michael Landon as Little Joe, and I was completely charmed by Dan Blocker as Hoss Cartwright. I was devastated when he died in real life and they wrote it in the show as he drowned.
I guess I always gravitated toward the guys who weren’t the most popular. Why? Maybe that’s one for a psychologist to untangle someday.
But one guy we’ve all agreed on, then and now is Sam Elliott. Some things are universal.
Normally, I don't "swoon" over stars, but as a growing girl/teen, I was normal in my crushes.
Thanks to the memory boost, think I'll watch something "old" now. I love very old westerns and movies.
What and/or who is your favorite to watch?
I found the photo from an article by Larry Lambert in "Medium" while searching for a good photo. Left to right is Loren Greene, Dan Blocker and Michael Landon from Bonanza.
Edited: Looks like not showing the photo. I'll try to add it again later.

I didn't have crushes on movie stars/television personalities. There were shows I enjoyed watching but no one person in each show. *shrug*

You never know, If those people had seen pictures of you, they might have crushed on you, too.

@DaddyEvil I was a young girl thinking I'd marry Hoss and later, John Candy.
Sam Elliot appealed to me later in years. I'm not crushing like want to be with him. I just like him a lot.

@RebeccasFarm It's crazy how we love bad boys. At least in fantasy.

At times I have to wonder why I really don’t have celebrity crushes, but I honestly don’t. Some are better looking than normal, and some are good actors or fantastic singers, but I’ve not ever gotten all obsessed over anyone. In the end, they are just people, like the rest of us.

@MarieCoyle I was always out and about keeping busy and active but listened to a lot of music. We loved going to the drive-in once a week and as a child, we had a local theater us kids would go hang around. I grew up with a lot of country stars that lived in our town and even ran around for awhile with one of their sons. It was normal for me.

I think I was so busy when I was a teen that I didn't have a lot of time to think about celebrities, although of course I did have my favorite singers, etc. at that time.

On gravitating towards ones who weren't the most popular...
Maybe it's a subconscious thought that you'll have more of a chance with them than the most popular ones, or that you subconsciously don't want to be among the ones fawning over the most popular ones.

My husband is the one that liked Western movies. He wasn't too keen on the TV shows. I had crushes on the "not-so-cute" stars too. I don't know why. Now I like Keanu Reeves, oldsters like Harrison Ford, etc. Not crushes...just likes. lol

@LindaOHio He's a Scottish actor/producer and played in a lot of good movies. I began to like him in Law Abiding Citizen and The Bounty Hunter. He is also the voice of Stoick the Vast in How to Train Your Dragon.
