Had a 2.5 hour phone conversation this afternoon

It was with my work bestie. I see her now and then if I'm upstairs to get something or make copies or even just to give her something. She stops by the room I'm in on her lunch less occasionally mostly because she stays upstairs in her classroom. We used to work right next door to each other. Then we were in the same wing and on the same floor but further away. Now we are in the same wing but she is upstairs and I'm downstairs. Our paths don't cross often which stinks. She called me this afternoon which is unusual. I answered and she said "I have to tell you this because I know you are one of the few people who will understand." I won't go into the details but it is work BS with a coworker in the science department. This chick has caused issues and burned bridges with almost everyone. I had to agree with my work BFF that she was correct and she knew that something similar had been done to me. We talked about that situation for awhile. . . and then it went on and on. This is what happens when work besties don't see each other every day any longer. We just kept going because we had so much to say. Truly most of the conversation was about things involving work because she and I are always like WTF with things going on but toward the end it was a couple of personal things. It really was great to talk to her for so long and to just get it all out. We agreed that we need to get together for coffee or a late lunch after work in the future because we miss each other and need each other to bounce ideas off of each other. We've worked together for 21 years. We know each other and can just speak freely which to me is so important. **I wrote this hours ago but for whatever reason it didn't post so here you go**

My sister is the only person I know who can talk for hours on a phone... I start getting desperate to get off the phone after a half an hour and have faked falling to get her to stop talking. I usually don't answer her calls and then text her when the phone stops ringing. With a text, I can just stop when I get tired of her repeating the same things again and again.

I'm not someone to spend a lot of time talking on the phone but I can always talk to my work BFF. We used to spend time at the end of every work day catching up but we don't cross paths at work much these days so we always have a lot to say.

@NJChicaa You also run away from work every day, too.

@DaddyEvil when I was on the 2nd floor and had to go down the stairs by her room I'd always just stop there and we would shoot the breeze until 1:50. I'm downstairs now with no work buddies. I don't feel the need to sit in a room by myself for 10 minutes.

Ahaha! You two must arrange something so you can regularly meet somewhere in between that upstairs and downstairs.

It is important for us all to have someone we can talk to the way you two do. I hope you're able to get together soon.

I talked to my husband's cousin for an hour last night. I told her I was lonely. I still miss my husband so much. Being a widow sucks. I'm glad you and your bestie had a long talk.

I have never been in such a long call. I talk at length with my mom and my daughter. But that never goes beyond 40 minutes. You must be close and comfortable together. Hopefully, you two can catch up later for coffee or lunch soon.

This is like me visiting with Jane. A lot of shared history.
