It is that time of year--bar nuts!

I saw a mention of the Union Square Cafe Bar Nuts on Chowhound many years ago. Apparently every day at 4 or 5pm they serve them warm at the bar. I had the Union Square Cafe cookbook and sure enough the recipe was in there. I made them for a Sunday Funday football party and they were a huge hit. I've been making them for years and years both for entertaining and also to give as gifts for Christmas. I give pint-sized mason jars of them to neighbors and also some of my coworkers. It isn't anything amazing but it is my little gesture to acknowledge them and the holiday. The recipe is widely available online. They are super simple to make but you would be surprised at how tasty they are. Everyone is always happy to receive them. I asked the new guy at work if he is allergic to nuts and he said cashews. Soooo he will not be getting the bar nuts but he likes egg nog and coquito so I will give him jars of those instead.
