Uh-oh, the family history might have caught up with me. Nothing serious, just painful. We’ll see. Meanwhile, it’s my turn on the list of songs with “boogie” in the title. Not that Linda won’t like this one, but I doubt she’ll remember it. I doubt any of you remember it. I’d call these guys a one-hit wonder, but “hit” only in the sense that this did make the top 40. Here we go.
#13: Did You Boogie (With Your Baby) - Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids
You’ve probably seen these guys. They played Herby and the Heartbeats in American Graffiti. They were also on Happy Days as a 50s band. That was an era of 50s “retro rock,” and Sha Na Na couldn’t be everywhere.
This was written by Rod McQueen, who had another one-hit wonder songwriting credit to his name: he co-wrote Daniel Boone’s hit “Beautiful Sunday.”
The single version of this song had the ubiquitous Wolfman Jack commenting over the song, but thankfully the album version didn’t have that. It’s just a fun, slightly naughty (totally innocent compared to some of the other songs of the mid-70s) tune that explains why the front of the movie theater was never as crowded as the last rows.

@JudyEv — you don’t have to.
Music is like food: personal preference and taste. I mean, y’all eat Vegemite, right, and we pick on it al the time!

They didn’t sing this in AG, they were in the movie. It’s been so long since I’ve seen it I don’t remember much of anything about it.

@FourWalls All I remember of it is Suzanne Somers' 5 second SOS (silent on screen) appearance in the T-Bird, and mostly I remember that because it's been mentioned so many times...

It’s one of those “blink and you missed it” songs from the 70s. There are surprisingly a lot of songs that were like that (didn’t get much airplay after a week or so) that I surprisingly know and like.

@FourWalls The 70s was when I listened to music on the radio. Some of my favorites are from that time.

Of course, I know of Wolfman Jack, but i don't know this group or song. But I'm learning from you and your knowledge, so it's all good.

Wolfman Jack got in a few songs back then. This is one that maybe six people remember: me and the five surviving band members.
