The Baking Club met today

We meet every other Monday after school. We've made caramel apples, decorated cupcakes twice, and today they decorated gingerbread houses. I ordered kits that came with pre-baked house pieces and pre-measured amounts of icing and decorations. They seemed to enjoy it. 2 of them eventually fell apart but they handled it fine. They still took the decorated house pieces home to eat. The supervisor saw students walking through the building with them so he stopped by to see what everyone was doing. I finally heard back from the teacher in charge of the general accounts for teams/clubs. I had emailed to ask how much $$ we had in the account. She told me at the beginning of the year that the former advisor left money in it. I've just been careful to not spend more on a project than what we've earned in the bake sales so far. Well we have $819! Wow! I will be reimbursed for the gingerbread kits so it will be closer to $700 when all is said and done. I was NOT expecting to have that much available. And we have another bake sale this Friday! I don't even know what to do with that much money. I'll definitely get an electric kettle for when we make marshmallows so they can have hot chocolate with them. It would be cool to have t-shirts made. I have no clue how to go about doing that but I know enough other advisors who do so they can tell me what to do. We shall see.

I like the idea of the T-shirts. I bet the kids would like that too. I know it’s been stressful on you, but I’m so glad you took this over. You’re killing it!

Electric kettle is a start... maybe electric griddles or crock pots?

Wow! The last advisor did well with the club account. T-shirts sound fun for the club. I'm sure the students will enjoy hot chocolate with the homemade marshmallows!

That is great and glad the gingerbread houses were made and decorated. Lots in the fund to do some other great stuff, I think the T-shirt idea is good.

It's always a good feeling to have a bit of money in 'kitty' so you're not continually worrying about finances.

I am glad to hear you will get reimbursed! And that there is money in the club account. The T-shirts would be a great idea as well.
