Crazy warm flood week

Wow my street was ankle deep in water last night. It was dryer this morning but some houses nearer to the river are having problems. The rain isn't supposed to let up until Friday.
Yesterday I made it to Beau's Vet to pick up his heart meds. There was deep water at every street corner and some on the street.
I made refrigerator cookies for the first time. I'm regretting that I never demanded that my Mom show me how to make them. I had to shape the sticky cooky dough into a log then wrap that log into wax paper so it could harden in the fridge. My log looked quite ill!! I found my long serrated bread knife and used that to slice the dough. The cookies are good enough to eat but wow on the effort.

Give Beau scratches from me, please. I'm glad you could get his meds.
I hope the rain slows down, at least. Please be careful.
I made refrigerator cookies once and won't make them again. Pretty loved them but they were too much work.

@sallypup You're welcome.
Yeah, that's what the instructions said but I disagree.

@DaddyEvil I wish I had asked my Mom about them. Thinking about it, I don't remember her making them very often!

@DaddyEvil Thanks. Refrig cookies are supposedly easier to make than regular cookies.

I hope the flooding doesn't get worse if it's going to continue raining.
I've made cookie like that and some of my rolled logs left a lot to be desired

@sallypup it's been awhile since I made them and really don't remember. If I had to guess, probably butter.

@Marilynda1225 B Crocker said shortening but I am not a fan of shortening aftertaste so that's why I went with butter.

@Marilynda1225 Did you use all butter or part shortening?

@wolfgirl569 Me, too but there is a warning that a second round of heavy rain will start tonight. I hope that is hogwash.

I've never actually seen an 'ill' log! I remember making cookies once that had to be refrigerated before baking.
