Do you have allergies?

I have had "hay fever" and asthma for all of my life. Even as a child, I remember making melodies with the phlegm in throat (or below) as I fell asleep. Right now I am dealing with an itchy back. It corresponds with being:adopted:(enslaved) by a cat. Am I actually allergic to cats? Last night, at about 3 AM, I boiled some water and gave my back a "sponge bath" It made things less itchy. It had worked with poison oak, so I decided to try it with my current affliction. I also have some pretty brutal coughing fits in the mornings, but so far, I have survived. Do you have allergies?

@TheHorse I had a bad case of pneumonia. That's when I found out about my allergies.

Usually cat allergies symptoms include sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, itchy or watery eyes, coughing, and skin rashes or hives. A simple itchy back cannot be because of kitty. I am allergic to pollen and to peanuts.

@TheHorse IF you experience those symptoms only when you are near Kitty, she is the problem.

Yes, it sounds like you are allergic to Kitty's fur/dander. That's the reason we can't have furbabies here, much as Pretty would love one. I take three different prescription allergy meds every morning or I'd be having too much fun, too. Even without a furbaby in the house. About once every other month I wake up having trouble breathing and give myself an epi-pen shot to open my airways up again. (Then spend 24 hours falling asleep randomly. ) I'd rather use the epi-pens than spend a night in the ER. I hope you're feeling better today, pony.

I think I may also have dust mites here. This is one dusty place, and I have a history of breaking vacuum cleaners.

Just allergies like mold, hay, pollen, and the like. Going from Oklahoma to California and back, you could tell where we were by how much our noses were running. California, Arizona, New Mexico? No allergies. Texas and Oklahoma, here they come! I think I might be allergic to cats. Either that, or the people I know with cats don’t clean their home very well. I walked into a neighbor’s home with one cat, and my eyes welled up. As soon as I left her apartment, I ran to take a shower.

As far as I know, I have no allergies, but there was a time I was prone to many sinus attacks and bad sinus headaches. These seem to have gone away.
