Social media bans and jigsaws

I was going to write about the12 social media platforms that were supposed to cancel the accounts of those under 16 years of age. The ban was supposed to come into effect yesterday but today some teenagers are saying nothing has happened and it’s business as usual. I guess it’s early days yet. Other countries are watching with interest I know.
So, as it seems to be a non-event at the moment, I thought I’d tell you about my latest jigsaw. At the clubhouse in our lifestyle village is a drawer full of games and jigsaws. I picked out this one last night and I think it might keep me busy for a while. I can see the field of flowers being a bit tricky.

Your friend was right, I never enter a site that asks for personal details, your address, your ID or anything that may identify you. Identity theft is a reality.

If the bans happens officially, I wonder if the youth will try to find away around it, like lie about their age in the information in the account area.

Some of the teens just opened accounts on other sites that weren't included in the bans.

Good luck on that puzzle. I am not that person that want to finish one since l find it very confusing to find each piece stick to finish one big picture.
. I really think that it is really hard to ban it now that social media is so open to allowing almost everyone to have an account to anyone. Even parents can create for their babies an account of their own. I guess that would take some time and effort to really weed out if they attempt to do that now that it has been open to every one on the net.

I heard a new story that some teens have lost their accounts but others haven't yet. Some teens there were switching to sites that weren't being banned in the last couple of weeks.
The sites are slow setting up age verifications that were more than just asking if you're older than 16 and letting the person into the site. They should have been programming those over the last couple of months, I would have thought. But maybe they didn't think the ban would be approved? I don't know.
That's going to be a beautiful picture when you get it finished.

@JudyEv A lot of countries are watching to see how things go in your country with the bans but it seems like they really hope things go well there. (trump is the only exception to that and he only warned not to target US companies. He's so stupid!)

@DaddyEvil Poor Trump. He is a bit of a laughing stock here but still has his supporters.

That's a lovely puzzle. I hadn't heard about the ban on under 16-year-olds.

@SIDIKIMPOLE I'm sure it's very difficult to place restrictions on the social media sites.

@JudyEv Uganda tried to ban Facebook during a past election but totally failed. VPN and foreign accounts facilitated violation of the ban in no time.

I support that, why? Because we need to really protect the minds of our youth. Social Media destroys them, but after that, I think parents should be more responsible, in shaping the mind and the hearts of their kids about what is good and what is not, and how to appreciate what they have and dream without bitterness in their hearts or being envious of others, or wanting a life that are not really good to follow.
Social Media Bans + Parents Protection and Guidance is a must.
We bought are dad a Jigsaw Puzzle one thousand pieces and he does not want it hehehehehe. So we will buy him a new one with only fifty to one hundred pieces only. Hahahaha.

I agree with you that youngsters need to be more protected when it comes to social media.
The 1,000 piece jigsaws can be very challenging.

I hadn't heard about the ban for 16-year-olds. I didn't think a lot of teenagers were on Facebook. I know I saw a message on Reddit and someone said that only old people were on Facebook being scammed by AI.
That Jigsaw puzzle looks like it will be fun to put together.

Accounts that are likely to be misused by minors should actually be moderated. Cancelling could prove a bit difficult! About the Jigsaw, I looks a bit complex. Might take you more time than you can imagine!

@SIDIKIMPOLE There were too many pieces that would fit in more than one place. It would have taken me forever.

I use to build that size and the flowers look challenging. Several of them are now framed and on my walls. Most of my puzzles are now 300, so I can do them myself without getting upset or not finish it.

I think I need to stick to smaller ones too. My sister has some of hers on the walls.
