We pulled out some parsley plants yesterday. They were well past their best and it was time to get new ones. I also bought a punnet of butternut pumpkin seedlings, two of which you can see in the photo.
Vince also bought a punnet of basil which Vince uses in his recipes from time to time. It’s nice having fresh herbs to use and I’m hoping I’ll get lots of butternuts from my pumpkin plants. They’re known as butternut squash in America, I think.
Hopefully I’ll have enough to give some away to friends. Although they keep well, the produce from six plants will hopefully be a LOT of pumpkins. Two years back, I bought a miniature butternut plant but it didn’t do well at all.

It's pretty hot here today so I hope the seedlings don't wilt too much.

Wish I lived closer to enjoy some of those butternut squash when you have an overload. Nothing beats fresh from the garden.

I don't know what the butternut squash is like. Here some people grow basil for repelling flies.

I like fresh herbs when I can get them for my cooking, too. We used to have basil and thyme in pots on the front porch along with green onions/bunch onions. (I'd cut the green tops off to use in eggs, soups and stews and leave the onion itself in the ground to produce more.)
Good luck with the butternut squash. (I never liked them but mom grew them all the time.)

I had to look up the word "punnet" as I had never heard that word before. Now I know it's a small basket or container

Those are butternut pumpkin plants.
