Just a week ago, a farmer from West River was killed while fighting a fire. West River is near Ravensthorpe where we used to live and we knew the man’s father. In today’s news I read that over 25 harvesters have arrived on the farm to help harvest the crop. As well as harvesters there are chaser bins to take the grain to the bulk grain bins.
Such an outpouring of public support often occurs when a farmer is killed, whether it’s planting the following year’s crop or taking off the current one. I’m sure the family feel very humbled by such generosity of those around. All those helping have their own crops to harvest and it’s a busy time for everyone. I’m sure it’s a cathartic experience for the family and their friends.
The photo is mine of the Ravensthorpe wheat bins.

I'm glad they all felt they could take the time to help them out.

@DaddyEvil That's so true. Doing something practical makes it easier somehow. You're showing you care without trying to find the right words.

Yes, I think so too. It would have meant so much to the family.

This is a great news!
Quite a generous display by many in the public!
I think it doesn't happens much here but sometimes people are more helpful in the countryside.
However, it might not be getting publicized much.
Anyways, have a nice weekend!

That’s such a blessing to hear!!! No, definitely not that the farmer passed away, but that people are banding together to help the family in their time of loss.
