I bet the choking victim was glad that Foley was there and knew what to do.

Good job, Officer! This made me curious, though... I did not realize there are devices now that can be used for choking. When I read the title, I just thought he performed the Heimlich maneuver. So anyway, I looked it up, and... is it true? Apparently, the recommendations are still to do back blows and the Heimlich. Use of anti-choking devices are apparently not recommended. I suppose if it worked, it worked. And perhaps in this case, maybe the officer thought he might injure the old man if he did the Heimlich, I don't really know... He looks like a big guy. Maybe the old man is small. In any case, I suppose when faced with a choking situation, do what works. If an anti-choking device was used and for some reason, it doesn't work, try something else instead of fumbling about with it and delaying the removal of the blockage.
