Today's bake sale was a success

I was nervous about it today. I had a hard time convincing students to volunteer to make stuff. I was afraid that a lot of them were going to blow it off and we'd have nothing to sell. No we had plenty of contributions. But the secretary forgot to make the announcement reminding students that it was going on until 7:10am which was the exact time the building principal kicked us out. There was SO MUCH stuff left. I was freaked out. I put everything on a cart and just wheel it back and forth from room to room selling to my students and anyone who stops by. I even bring it to hall duty. By the second half of the day I was even just standing in the hall as classes changed so random students could buy stuff. I normally dip as soon as the bell rings at the end of the day but I stayed in the hall until it was basically clear. Almost everything was gone. I put the remaining stuff in the fridge in the teacher's lounge so the mice wouldn't get it over the weekend. I'll put it out on Monday morning and it will all be gone by the end of the day. I just did the paperwork for the deposit. We made $297! Our account will have over $1000 after this gets added to it. I have no idea what to even do with that much money. Our cooking and decorating activities cost around $150 per activity. . . or at least they have so far.

7.10am sounds really early for anything to be happening. What time do the kids start getting to school? I'm glad you got rid of everything even if it took a huge effort on your part.

This should be an economics lesson to the students. Once they see how things are priced from the first step to the final sale, maybe they'll think about their finances.

Oh, that really did mess things up when the secretary didn’t announce it in time. Caused you a lot of extra work and worry. How wonderful that you made some money and the club is doing so well.
