You have GOT to be kidding me

I always have the TV on in the background when I'm here and not reading or sleeping. Most of the time it is the news but it also could be Friends, Outlander, or a movie. I don't sit even facing it but I am listening as I work on the computer or am cooking or whatever. Last night the TV was fine. This morning I turned it on and it is making this sound. . . I don't even know how to describe it. It sounds like someone is trying to send Morse code. Yes I can hear the show but there is this constant buzzing or whatever. I turned it off and on. Still there. I tried using different channels. Still there. I tried using different streaming sources. Still there. What I did discover that the volume of the noise is directly linked to the volume of the TV. I'm assuming its an issue with the speaker. But here's the kicker--THIS TV IS ONLY 3 MONTHS OLD. Well I've only been using it for 3 months anyway. I went to Amazon to see how to report a problem. I chose the "receive a call" option from customer service. They called immediately and some nice woman in Bombay put me on hold to contact the seller. She said that they would contact me within 48 hours about a return or replacement. Um obviously I want a replacement. I bought it for a reason. But for now I am stuck listening to this BS. I can't even just turn it off (well I could) and play my Apple Music on my Echo Dot because that thing randomly stopped connecting to my iPhone and I've been trying for weeks to reconnect it. It is either this insanity or silence. I guess it is a good thing that I don't have some kind of controlling or OCD issue. I will have to get my ex back over here to remove this and hang the replacement. . . whenever it arrives.

I get upset when I think about how long things used to last us, and how short of a time they often last now. It’s like they throw stuff together and then it has a very short life. What a disappointment for you, I’m sorry.

The TV I had before we bought back in 2008. The CNN chyron bar and logo were burned into it b/c it was a plasma TV. That didn't even bother me. It was when it started flickering that I decided to get a new one. Yeah it was delivered September 13 and hung several days after that. Today is Dec 12.

That would drive me nuts too. How disappointing that you’ve only had it three months though.

If it sounds like Morse code, and you're fluent in it, try transcribing it and see if you come up with some secret plot to rule the world.

That is highly annoying to say the least..things these days don't seem to last. I hope the seller will accommodate.

That's ultra annoying when the thing is virtually brand new.

Okay, when a television does that, it could be a hardware glitch or a software glitch. The first thing I would do is unplug it, wait a couple of minutes and plug it back in. Often, that will fix a software glitch. If you have the owner's manual or can look up the owner's manual online, it should give you a code so you can update the software and make sure it's not asking for an update. This is the second thing I'd try. I hope it's something easy to fix/do. Good luck with it.
