Y’all are gonna hate this one, so just stop by, wave, say hi, hope your Christmas shopping is going well or you’re enjoying Hanukkah, nice weather rebound, or whatever.
Welcome to my wild world. Someone you’ve never heard of, and a song you won’t like. What else could go wrong on hump day?
Linda? NO!!!!!
#8: Lost John Boogie - Wayne Raney
Here’s an endorsement that’s really not much of one: Bob Dylan once said that his primary influence as a harmonica player was Wayne Raney.
Poor Wayne!
If you remember my 100 favorite country songs countdown last year, you saw Wayne Raney’s name on it. Twice. Once as the co-writer of “Blues, Stay Away From Me,” and once as the performer and writer of “Why Don’t You Haul Off and Love Me.” So he’s not totally obscure..at least you’ve seen his name here to shrug at.
There’s one other place you may know Raney’s name from. If you’ve seen those lists of song titles are are considered outlandish by today’s standards (or even back then, if we’re honest), there’s a Wayne Raney song that usually pops up on them: “We Need a Whole Lot More of Jesus (And a Lot Less Rock and Roll).” Real song. In fact, Linda Ronstadt covered it!
So just wave and say hi…and have patience, because a song many of you have been asking for will be along tomorrow.

I don't know this song but the weather is comfortable here. The sky is overcast and the temp is 54F at 11:50 am.

@FourWalls Believe it or not, we're supposed to have 60s and 70s for the next ten days.

A lot of people don’t care for harmonica.
