Good evening, friends. I bought fresh mussels and washed them, cooked and deshelled them. They are now in their water in a Tupperware and in the freezer. The worst task for next Monday´s luncheon is over. I think that I told you that I am giving a small belated birthday party for my friend Alejandra.I had planned to invite other friends who are writers but Alejandra said that she would not be comfortable with them. She is almost blind by now and needs her son around to cut the meat and help her eat. She is happy with Dixie though so I´ll have Dixie and Humberto, Alejandra and her son Cristobal (who is now working on editing Humberto´s book about his trips in sailboats). I´m going to cook a seafood risotto because Dixie is vegetarian. Dixie is bringing a cake and Humberto a bottle of wine.Although Alejandra is not supposed to bring anything because the party is for her, she will bring a bottle of Coca Cola. It is against my principles to buy that unless I read again how isit used to clean up the toilette and other such things. On Sunday I´ll wash again my very best dishes and check on my glasses. My best glasses are on the second floor so they will have to stay there. How do you prepare your house and meals for special ocations?
