On December 19, 1843, Charles Dickens released "A Christmas Carol," a brief but impactful tale that became a holiday classic.
Featuring Ebenezer Scrooge and his encounters with ghosts, the story resonated deeply with Victorian society, reflecting the spirit of Christmas.
Despite Dickens's existing fame, this book surprised many by becoming his most lasting work, influencing modern Christmas celebrations significantly.
Have you read the book or seen any of the Scrooge films?
My favorite is the newish animated one with Jim Carrey in it.

I like the older classic one from 1951 with Alastair Sim. He plays a great Scrooge. The scenery and story make you feel like you're in London, England. Plus, this version feels like a ghost story, and the black and white version adds authenticity to the movie. What can I say OT, I'm a Classic kind of guy, lol.

@RebeccasFarm Yes, as Smoley Robinson would say, "I Second that Emotion OT. SNL "jumped the shark" decades ago. If I want a laugh, I'll watch Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation.

What a glorious story he gave us all to enjoy. I am a fan of the early 1949 version of the story. The actor is just who I would imagine Scrooge to look like. It's one I try to cast each year.

I've read the story and seen the movie. This is one time that the movie was better than the book, in my opinion, of course.
