Making dinner for a neighbor today

My neighbor and pool buddy just had a baby on Monday. Her due date was in early January but they scheduled a C-section because her blood pressure was high. She and baby girl are good and back here now. I asked her what she wanted me to make for them and at first she said anything but eventually she said lasagna because that is her other daughter's favorite. I asked if Abby liked vegetables because my bougie version of lasagna is from the Carmine's cookbook and that uses a bolognese sauce. She said that Abs likes veg so it is game on. It is a time-consuming but not difficult process to make it so they will get it tomorrow. (grocery order hasn't even been delivered yet) I'll also send over a lemon pound cake as a sweet treat. That is pretty bold of me to send a baked good to a pastry chef but I don't think she will judge me too harshly at this point in time. If I still have motivation later I might even make bread for them to use as garlic bread. I wouldn't bet on that though. HAHAHAHA

That's very nice of you. They will appreciate whatever you send; and it will all be good.

The church I attended where I used to live did this for new mothers. I was the recipient of a weed worth of dinners every night for a week after we came home from the hospital. It helped so much. I made meals for the new moms when needed, but to be on the receiving end was truly wonderful. I’m sure your friend and her family will appreciate it!
