WOW! Too Much Noise!

I was watching a new dinosaur video on YT, wearing my headphones, when music started blasting and drowned the video out! I went to Pretty's bedroom and asked if that was something she was watching and she said it was coming from OUTSIDE the house!
Apparently, the neighbor's kids and grandkids are here for Christmas and one of them HAD to turn their stereo up and blast something across the neighborhood.
We don't say anything when they do that during the summer. We usually leave the house for a few hours and they're quiet-ish when we come home. But it's 40F outside and I don't want to get dressed and find someplace to go to get away from their noise tonight.
I stepped out on the front porch and grandpa told them to turn it down. Some people have no respect for others! It's after 10 pm!

That was so disrespectful of them. It's one reason I don't like to live in the city or inside towns. Sometimes, you still get some noise out here, but we avoid the loud dog barking, music, etc. Those parents and grandparents are at fault too for allowing it. Wow. Hope they don't do it again.

I would have called the police if it had kept going. I think it was the parents, not the kids, playing the loud music.

@DaddyEvil I have lived near people like this before. Hope you got some sleep.

It's a city ordnance that no loud music is allowed after 10 pm.

@DaddyEvil I don't think we have that here but maybe we do.

@JudyEv The ordinance here says no noise before 8 am and after 10 pm. We can't mow lawns before that or play music after that unless there's a concert in the city park.

I'm glad he told them to turn it down. I would have called the police for a noise violation otherwise.

Did they turn it down?
See, even in a house and not an apartment you still get disrespect.
Sorry to know it.

@DaddyEvil - It's anyway annoying, even if they are young, they should respect the others more.

Thank you. It happens too often during the summer, too. But they're in the back yard then and we can't hear it so loudly.

Oh, ugh. That reminds me of my dad’s neighbors. They are great people, just absolutely fantastic. But about 10 years ago they let their son and his rock band practice every weekend in their garage WITH the door open. It was so wretched. My parents were willing to keep their mouths shut, but the people across the street were absolutely not. When a simple conversation didn’t fix it, the police were called.
I am very glad the grandpa had enough sense to turn it down. That’s so rude.

We normally just leave for a while and then come back to relative peace.
I agree, if it had gone on much longer, I would have called the police right there so they could see me doing it.

Grampa? Is that a neighbor. Sorry you had to put with that noise. I so dislike rude neighbors. I am glad we have rules here. It's very quiet.

They did. I would have thought they knew better, too. They're here every summer, all summer long. Usually in the back yard, though, where I don't have to hear them.
